I am Kamal Zharif bin Kamaludin. My friends usually call me Kamal. I was raised in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and graduated in Bachelor of Computer Engineering. Until now it is already more than 2 years of my involvement in photography.
Since the beginning of my photography years, I try to attend several photography workshop and classes and learn some concept on how to make good photo. The interest of photography drove me to go out to take photograph with other senior photographers. I believe all of these activities indirectly taught me a little bit on how to train my eyes to get the beautiful image. One of the senior photographers told me that we need to burn the image in our mind before creating a very good photo. During one of the photography outing organized by my senior, I have first experience for be able to imagine the image in my mind before shoot the particular scene. This experience makes me very agree that if somebody wants to make a good photo, the image in the mind should be developed first. Furthermore, when I am in blank of idea, it is hard to make a good photo.
During my early year of photography involvement, I think that we can create the good photo regardless of any condition including weather, time and place. This type of thinking lead me to find either it is truth or just a myth. Some photographer said that the good image can be found everywhere. During my rest at home, I will search and locate some of excellent photos and it inspired me a lot. Most of the great photos I found located at Flickr website. I tried to browse hundreds of the good image. By this, at least I have an opportunity to develop the good idea on how to take good photograph. While I was finding the answer, I am becoming more serious than before when I joined CAK Photography (www.cakphotography.net). It was through my friend invitation. This company is based at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and specialized in wedding photography.
The invitation to Cak Photography allowed me to explore the beautiful side of photo. This opportunity makes me eager to find on how to use weather, time and space (place to shoot) elements for producing an outstanding results. Almost every week, I will find a spare time to go out and tag along for shooting some of wedding events. I am very grateful that during this time, I have a chance to explore some parts and concepts of photography. This early experience excites me a lot since I can meet other people and see how it relates with the weather, time and space. Every wedding event that I joined is a new experience to me. When I am trying to combine the several beautiful elements in photo with the human subject, I will try to get the best photo. This happened on every activity that I joined. Sometimes, I just freely think on how to get the good photo when walking out to the street or hanging out with friends.
Early of May 2010, I was transferred to Shanghai, China to work. I am working as Technical Support Engineer for a customer support. As I in China, my photography passion grows more rapidly than before. It happens when I see a lot of awesome places especially in Shanghai. Currently, my passion when looking at Shanghai environment, culture, building and people drives me to take and make more meaningful photos and share with other people. Lastly, one of my ambitions is to have a chance for having a photography session at Antartica and I want it happen.
